AMSA’s Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC Australia) has been conducting a search for an ultralight aircraft with two people onboard overdue on a training flight from Bundaberg in Queensland.
The aircraft had not been sighted since departing Bundaberg at approximately 11:30am (local time) yesterday.
At approximately 6:10am (local time) today the aircraft was sighted within the search area, approximately 7.5 kilometres west of Burnett.
Search teams onsite have confirmed there are no survivors.
Queensland Police are now on scene and continuing further investigations.
