AMSA’s Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC Australia) has been conducting a search for a light aircraft with two people onboard in the region of Emerald, Queensland.
The light aircraft had not been sighted since departing Emerald aerodrome at approximately 3pm (local time) yesterday.
At approximately 1:15pm today the light aircraft was located within the search area.
Search teams onsite have confirmed there are no survivors.
Queensland Police are now on scene and continuing further investigations in conjunction with Recreation Aviation Australia.
