Two men missing in Torres Strait found
Two men missing in Torres Strait for almost two days have been found safe and well.
The men, who went missing while on a boating trip near Murray Island, were found in the search area by a search aircraft about 3.30pm (EST) today. The aircraft was one of nine taking part in a search for the pair being coordinated by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
The men, one in his 50s and the other in his 60s, were found aboard their four-metre aluminium dinghy about 60 kilometres north of Murray Island. They were winched aboard a rescue helicopter and taken to Yorke Island, from where they were expected to be taken to Thursday Island hospital for a medical check-up.
