Air search for missing man WA

Australian Search and Rescue is coordinating an aerial search for a missing 66-year-old man who was thrown overboard when the catamaran he was on capsized just before 2am on Sunday morning (18/8).

Five fixed-wing aircraft are searching a 500 square nautical mile area about 35 nautical miles (65 kms) north-west of Port Hedland.

The weather in the search area is fine with light winds.

The West Australian Police have overall coordination of the search.
