Missing glider pilot found

A 36-year-old glider pilot has been found safe and well after a forced landing in a field 40 kilometres north of Tocumwal on the New South Wales-Victorian border.

Australian Search and Rescue was advised at 9.13 pm (AEST) last night that the glider was missing after failing to return to Tocumwal from a navigation exercise.

A search involving five fixed wing aircraft and one helicopter was underway this morning when AusSAR was advised at about 8am (AEST) that the pilot had walked into a farmhouse.

He is believed to be uninjured.
