Torres Strait search : missing seven found

An aerial search for seven people last seen on Monday afternoon travelling from Daru Island in Papau New Guinea to Darnley Island in the Torres Strait has located the missing people.

The seven people, including two children, were found in their seven metre fibreglass banana boat 16 nautical miels (30kms) north west of Stephen Ilsnad at about 9am.

The missing people were located by a Customs Coastwatch aircraft. There ar no reports of any injuries to the people.
