Search for missing pilot, Warwick - Boonah, QLD

Australian Search and Rescue is coordinating a search for a 48 year old pilot reported missing last night after leaving from Warwick on a flight to Boonah about 60 kms south west of Brisbane yesterday.

AusSAR is appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Cunningham Highway or in the vicinity of the Cunningham Gap yesterday who saw a small aircraft flying at low altitude to contact them on 1800 815 257.

A search will commence this morning depending on the weather using two helicopters flying low and slow along the Cunningham Highway.

The weather for yesterday’s flight was poor with low cloud and heavy rain in the area.
