Missing aircraft located

The search being conducted between Moranbah and Charters Towers has located wreckage, confirmed to be the missing aircraft, approximately 10 nautical miles (20kms) west of Mt McConnell.

It has been confirmed the pilot has not survived. Police are on the way to the crash site.

Australian Search and Rescue would like to thank all those who called in with information in relation to this search.
