Oiled Wildlife Response Kit Policy
National Plan to Combat Pollution of the Sea by Oil and other Noxious and Hazardous Substances
1. Purpose
This policy establishes the States/NT financial and administrative responsibilities in regard to the National Plan Oiled Wildlife Response Kits.
2. Scope
This procedure is applicable to all states/territories in possession of a National Plan Oiled Wildlife Response Kit. This procedure does not include kits that have been supplied by Agencies other than AMSA.

5. Background
5.1 Supply and Delivery of kits
At its 7th meeting in 1996, the National Plan Advisory Committee decided that four (4) generic oiled wildlife response kits would be purchased and located at:
- Perth, WA
- Darwin, NT
- Townsville, QLD
- Sydney, NSW
The details for contacting the officer responsible for each of the kits listed above are attached at Annex A.
In addition to this, the 13th meeting of the National Plan Advisory Committee agreed to purchase and distribute an additional three (3) kits to those states that did not initially receive one.
5.2 Procedure
The kits will be audited as part of the National Plan Equipment Audit Procedures.
5.3 Maintenance/Upgrades
The State/NT in which the kit is placed will be responsible for the maintenance of the kit and replacement of time expired items.
All initial equipment delivered with the kit will be supplied by AMSA, any additions or updates to the kit endorsed by the National Plan Operations Group on the recommendation of the Environment Working Group will be paid for and supplied by AMSA.
5.4 Loan Agreements
All States/NT in possession of a National Plan Oiled Wildlife Response Kit will be required to have a current National Plan Oiled Wildlife Response Kit Loan Agreement with AMSA for the equipment.
