Certificate of Recognition - Revalidation

General

When a certificate holder wishes to revalidate an AMSA certificate of recognition they must first revalidate their primary qualification.

Certificate of recognition holders who have difficulty in revalidating their primary qualification should notify AMSA providing full details of the difficulty.

A certificate of recognition holder revalidating their primary qualification must meet the same revalidation requirements as an Australian certificate of competency holder - see section on Certificate Revalidation

Holders of certificates of recognition issued in accordance with the STCW 78 Convention wishing to revalidate their certificate of recognition should contact the nearest AMSA Examination centre for advice.

Deck Officer

In addition to the general requirements, for the issue of a certificate of recognition for a Master or Deck Officer qualification, the holder must hold a valid Australian GMDSS GOC or an Australian GMDSS Certificate of Recognition, at the time of revalidation.

Engineer Officer

There are no special requirements other to than those shown above relating to revalidating an Engineer certificate of recognition.
