Certificate Requirements
General
To qualify for an AMSA primary marine qualification, seafarers must complete an approved course of study which includes any required short courses, conducted at an Australian maritime training provider. Additionally, for issue of a certificate of competency, the trainee has to pass an oral examination in operational knowledge and critical skills conducted by AMSA examiners.
