Competencies
AMSA has responsibility for licensing all crew members of Australian ships operating under the Navigation Act 1912 to ensure their competency standards meet the needs of the Australian Shipping Industry and Australia's obligations under International Convention of Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 as amended (STCW95).
These pages specify standards of competence to be attained and any other conditions which need to be satisified to attain your certification.
