Exemption 10—Marine Safety (Operation of fishing vessels) 2017
Marine Safety (Operation of fishing vessels) Exemption 2017 (Exemption 10) is issued under subsection 143(1) of the Marine Safety (Domestic Commercial Vessel) National Law Act 2012.
Exemption 10 will allow you to act as a master of:
- a fishing vessel less than 15 metres long operating in the fishing ship operational area off the coast of Queensland
- a tender boat operating as a fishing vessel.
To be eligible for Exemption 10, you must hold either a:
- Coxswain grade 1 near coastal certificate of competency
- Recreational marine licence—if operating a tender boat as a fishing vessel.
How to apply
You do not need to apply for this exemption.
If you are eligible you may operate under this exemption until 30 June 2020.
