AMSA's Emergency Response Division recently donated laptops and docking stations to the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Honiara, Solomon Islands.
AMSA staff met Peter Young from the MRCC at a Pacific Islands, Countries and Territories meeting in 2011 and we donated a couple of second hand laptops to the Solomon Islands at that time. Three years on and those laptops needed to be replaced, so Peter contacted us to ask if we would consider donating again.
The laptops were recently taken to Honiara by Australian Government workers and handed over to Peter at MRCC Honiara.
