Media Release

The aircraft departed Bullo River Station in the south west of the Northern Territory mid-afternoon on Monday 1 April 2013 for Emakytee airfield, south of Darwin.

The aircraft was last heard from at approximately 3 pm local time and significant concerns are held for the safety of the four people on board.

Today’s search beginning at first light will involve up to six planes and helicopters and will focus on the coastal and inland areas of Anson Bay.

Search aircraft with thermal imaging and night vision equipment have undertaken an initial search of the area.

Persons with information about a light aircraft operating between Cape Ford and Point Jenny, and inland between Batchelor and Daly River between 2.30 pm and 4 pm local time on Monday 1 April, are requested to contact AMSA on 1800 815 257.
