Beacon key to search for light plane crash in remote WA
A distress beacon alert was detected by AMSA Search & Rescue at 10.14am (AEST).
A Royal Flying Doctor Service plane was diverted and observed a person waving near aircraft wreckage.
AMSA Search & Rescue has tasked a rescue helicopter from Coondewanna mine, which is en route to the crash site.
Western Australia Police and St John Ambulance are en route in vehicles to the crash site, 315 kilometres East of Carnarvon.
The crash site is about 24km from Landor Station.
AMSA urges all pilots to have a properly registered 406MHz distress beacon to assist in the event of an emergency.
The beacon has assisted AMSA in this search and rescue.
