Friday 8 February 2019
AMSA has issued the latest Queensland Coastal Passage Plan (QCPP) that prepares vessels for transit through environmentally sensitive areas such as the Great Barrier Reef and Torres Strait.

The plan has been completely funded by AMSA, and has been revised to include feed-back that AMSA received from the coastal pilots and pilotage providers. The QCPP 2019 is the result of a collaborative work which has been conducted in the past two years.

All Masters and coastal pilots transiting these areas should consider the information in the QCPP when preparing their passage plans. Vessel owners, charterers, and agents might also find the document useful in improving the readiness of ships by ensuring voyage plans, waypoints and other planning considerations have been completed in a standardised manner.
