No national system levy for three years

Deputy Prime Minister announces additional $10 million in funding.

The Deputy Prime Minister has announced that the Australian Government will provide an additional $10 million funding for the national system in response to industry feedback.

The additional funding means no levy will be charged to industry for the first three years of service delivery under AMSA.

Fees for all certificate services commenced as planned on 1 July 2018.

Other changes

  • An application for a new certificate of survey is reduced to $366.
  • An application to renew an existing certificate is reduced to $206.
  • Unpowered vessels used in commercial hire and drive operation are exempt from the levy.
  • A review of all costs and charges for the national system will be conducted in 2020-21.
