September 26 is World Maritime Day and this year's theme is 'Empowering Women in the Maritime Community'.
It has been over 60 years since the IMO Convention was first adopted and Australia has been a member state since the beginning. As Australia's representative at the IMO, AMSA is proud to contribute to the IMO's mission-to promote safe, secure, environmentally sound, efficient and sustainable shipping through cooperation.
Australia is reliant on shipping for our economic prosperity, and as a country, with some of the most sensitive marine environments on the planet, we must ensure that it remains safe and reliable into the future.
AMSA wishes everyone in the maritime industry a happy World Maritime Day 2019.
