Where and how to pay these charges if you are in Australia
- You must pay the fees for Seafarer form 426 at Australia Post when you lodge your application. Australia Post will issue a receipt for every charge paid and record the receipt number on your application form. Find participating Australia Post retail outlets.
- For oral examinations, you must pay at the time and date your appointment has been confirmed. You can pay with by either eftpos, credit card or cash – cheques will not be accepted.
How to pay these charges if you are overseas (only revalidation or replacement)
You must mail your payment to us with your application form.

Payment methods
You may use:
- A bank draft, in Australian dollars drawn on an Australian bank, and made payable to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. Make sure your name and the reason for payment is on the back of the bank draft.
- A credit card, either Mastercard or VISA. Complete a Credit card payment authorisation (form 237). We do not accept AMEX or Diners Club credit cards.
