Transition arrangements for certificates issued under the now defunct Marine Order 3 (Seafarer certification) 2004.

Certificates issued under the former Marine Order 3 (Seafarer certification) 2004 will need to be transitioned to:

(i) at least 12 months documented qualifying seagoing service after 1 January 2007, or

(ii) within 12 months before the date of application for revalidation of the certificate — an approved revalidation course appropriate for the grade of certificate to be issued

and

(b) hold a certificate of medical fitness

Integrated ratingIntegrated rating endorsed as STCW regulation II/5 and III/5 compliant

Person must:

(a) have completed:

(i) at least 12 months documented qualifying seagoing service after 1 January 2007, or

(ii) within 12 months before the date of application for revalidation of the certificate — an approved revalidation course appropriate for the grade of certificate to be issued

and

(b) hold a certificate of medical fitness

Able seamanAble seafarer — deck

Person must:

(a) have completed:

(i) at least 12 months documented qualifying seagoing service after 1 January 2007, or

Person must:

(ii) within 12 months before the date of application for revalidation of the certificate — an approved revalidation course appropriate for the grade of certificate to be issued

and

(b) hold a certificate of medical fitness
