Watchkeeper deck less than 500 gross tonnage
AMSA will not be taking oral examination bookings from the end of November to mid-January and will be shut between 25 December 2019 and 2 January 2020.
With this certificate you can perform the duties or functions of Watchkeeper deck officer duties on ships less than 500 gross tonnage in any operating area and if endorsed, Watchkeeper deck officer on ships less than 3000 gross tonnage in near coastal waters.
To be eligible for a Watchkeeper deck less than 500 gross tonnage certificate of competency you must meet medical, sea service and course requirements. The requirements depend on whether you are getting a certificate for the first time or revalidating an existing certificate.
