Maritime professional development program

We offer a maritime professional development program for mid to senior level port State control (PSC) staff from counterpart maritime safety agencies.
Shipboard inspection training

The program aims to strengthen relationships between maritime safety agencies in our region and assist in the transfer of skills and knowledge between participants. The two-week program is held each year during October and will provide participants with opportunities to:

  • meet with technical experts to learn about Australia’s approach to PSC
  • meet with participants from other international maritime organisations
  • share comparative approaches on PSC and related issues.

Due to the continued coronavirus pandemic we are not providing our training course in 2020.

Why you should train with us

We are Australia’s national maritime safety agency. We have a long history of providing PSC training to the international maritime community, particularly in the Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean regions. Our program recognises the importance of developing skills and sharing experiences to strengthen regional efforts to promote ship and seafarer safety, and protect the marine environment.
