Australia's Transport Ministers have agreed to provide more than $100 million to support industry's transition to new service arrangements under the National System for Domestic Commercial Vessel Safety.

Transport Ministers committed to phasing in a cost recovery levy gradually, to allow time for industry to adjust and prepare for the changes. For the first year of the new service arrangements no levy will be charged to industry.

With the funding agreed, work can now progress to finalise the national system fees and levy charges-taking into account industry feedback from the levy consultation in 2016.

You can expect to see the proposed model and fee structure in early 2018 and AMSA will take on full service delivery on 1 July 2018.
