Safety—you’ve got to know it
Saturday 26 September 2020
Knowing the limits of your vessel is the first line of defence when heading out on the water—your lives depend on it.
Ask yourself if you have the right vessel for your intended activity.
There are many things to consider when thinking about how suitable your vessel is.
For example, is this vessel designed to undertake the planned operations? Is it seaworthy? How many people will be going? Is there enough space for equipment? When the vessel is loaded will I still have easy access to my safety equipment? Is my vessel suitable for the expected weather conditions and sea state? Do I have sufficient fuel carrying capacity?
If in doubt, don’t put yourself and others in danger. Get the right vessel for the trip.
