Tell us what you think—electrical safety on board your vessel

Wednesday 12 December 2018
To improve electrical safety on board, we are proposing a simplified set of standards to meet electrical design, construction, installation and repair requirements for your vessel. Consultation open to 28 February.

The updates align the regulations with the current Australian Standard, and State & Territory WHS requirements.

The changes confirm that circuit protection devices (RCDs and RCBOs) are required on domestic commercial vessels.

We want to know whether you think the proposed changes will be easier to implement and make your operation safer.

The consultation on the revised electrical standard (National Standard for Commercial Vessels subsection C5B) is open until 28 February 2019.

Read the consultation paper and have your say.
