Photo requirements for domestic certificates

Photo requirements  

You must be easily identified from the photo on your domestic certificate of competency.

The photo you provide for your certificate must have been taken within the 6 months prior to lodging your application.

Your photo must be taken against a white or off white background and show your head and shoulders, with the edge of your face visible.

If you wear a head covering for religious reasons, we can accept your photo as long as your facial features are clear.

Taking your application to the Post Office

If you’re lodging your application at a participating Australia Post outlet, they will take your photo when you submit your application. Remember to check that you have all supporting documents for your application before you go to an Australia Post outlet.
