A current title extract will show the particulars of a ship from the date it is produced. A title extract gives details of ownership, ship particulars and any caveats over a registered ship.
To request a title extract, you need to:

If you know the name of the vessel, you can search for the vessel on the register [1]. The vessel’s registration certificate will also have the name and official number for the vessel and the name and address of the current registered owner(s).
You will need to download and complete:
Application for current title extract form 204 [2].
A fee of A$75 is payable for a title extract.
You can pay by cheque, credit card, or direct deposit.
Use the Ship registration credit card payment authorisation form 114 [3] to pay by credit card.
Use the Australian shipping registration office direct deposit information [4] to pay by direct deposit.
If paying by cheque, please make it out to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
