This training helps to improve the overall safety performance of Indonesian maritime operations. It is part of AMSA’s commitment to capacity building by supporting a range of projects for improving transport safety in Indonesia, and contributes to the ongoing engagement between AMSA and DGST.
From 26 October to 6 November, AMSA Marine Surveyor Ajay Rana provided PSC training to 28 potential Port State Control Officers from DGST and the Indonesian Coastguard. The training, held at Gresik, East Java Province and at Cilegon, Banten Province, included:
The senior management of DGST is keen to improve the efficiency and quality of the PSC inspection regime in Indonesia, and both management and the course participants were very keen to learn from AMSA’s experience and expertise.
