Exemption 10—Marine Safety (Operation of fishing vessels) 2017
Marine Safety (Operation of fishing vessels) Exemption 2017 (Exemption 10) under subsection 143(1) of the Marine Safety (Domestic Commercial Vessel) National Law.
Exemption 10 will allow you to operate a domestic commercial vessel as a master on a vessel:
- Greater than 15 meters long operating as a fishing vessel in the fishing ship operational area off the coast of Queensland
- Operating a tender boat as a fishing vessel.
To be eligible for Exemption 10, you must either:
- Hold a Coxswain grade 1 near coastal certificate of competency
- Operate a tender boat as a fishing vessel with a recreational marine license.
How to apply
You do not need to apply for this exemption.
If you are eligible and meet the conditions of the exemption you may operate under this exemption until 2020.
