Schedule of charges for domestic certificates

Fees for domestic certificates of competency—near coastal, certificates of operation, certificates of survey, and other fees.

Rates are in Australian Dollars and excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST). Unless otherwise stated, these rates are exempt from GST.

COVID-19 relief

We are aware of the impact COVID-19 has had on the domestic commercial industry. We are providing financial relief to those operators and seafarers who have been impacted, such as exemptions and extensions of time for certificate renewals. Find out more.

Where and how to pay these charges if you are in Australia

  • You must pay the fees for Seafarer form 426 at Australia Post when you lodge your application.  Australia Post will issue a receipt for every charge paid and record the receipt number on your application form.  Find participating Australia Post retail outlets.
  • For oral examinations, you must pay when we confirm your appointment. We will tell you how to pay when you return your signed policy and rules agreement.

How to pay these charges if you are overseas (only revalidation or replacement)

You must email your application form to us at SCSApplication@amsa.gov.au. We will tell you how to pay once we have received your application.
