A current title extract will show the particulars of a ship from the date it is produced. A title extract gives details of ownership, ship particulars and any caveats over a registered ship.
To request a title extract, you need to:
Know the name or official number to identify the vessel
A title extract can be granted for vessels that are currently registered. If the vessel is likely to be on the Australian General Shipping Register, it will:
- be Australian owned.
- have the name of the vessel marked on both sides of the vessel’s bow and the name and home port marked on the stern.
If you know the name of the vessel, you can search for the vessel on the register. The vessel’s registration certificate will also have the name and official number for the vessel and the name and address of the current registered owner(s).
Complete the form
You will need to download and complete:
Application for current title extract form 204.
Pay the application fee
You must pay a non-refundable fee when lodging your application.
