Marine order 91—Marine pollution prevention—oil

Protecting the marine environment from oil pollution.

Current Marine Order 91 (Marine pollution prevention—oil) 2014  – 1 April 2018

Marine order 91 sets out the requirements of the prevention of pollution of the environment by oil for regulated Australian vessels, domestic commercial vessels and Australian recreation vessels including:

  • certificates required to be held by vessels
  • reporting requirements
  • operational requirements for transfer of oil between vessels
  • when a vessel is not permitted to enter a port.
