International Women in Maritime tour the AMSA response centre

Tuesday 14 March 2023
Last week the AMSA Response Centre welcomed a visit of international delegates from Pacific countries as part of the Women in Maritime Security Program.
International delegates visiting the AMSA response centre as part of the Women in Maritime Security Program

The guests, who were visiting Australia from the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia, spent time with our Search and Rescue team to hear about emergency beacons, aviation and maritime search and rescue response times, as well as background on some of AMSA's most significant incident responses over the years.

We also had the pleasure of sharing information about some of our Women in Maritime initiatives.

We support the International Maritime Organization's commitment to gender equality. Within the small portion of females in the maritime sector we have some great female role models, and we create opportunities for women in maritime through a number of activities in Australia and globally.

Many thanks to the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs  and Trade for coordinating this visit.
