This determination identifies the parts of operational area C in which a vessel approved under Exemption 40 may operate.
An updated version of exemption 40 came into effect on 1 July 2025.
You need to apply to operate under this exemption.
This operational area determination is made under Exemption 40—Marine Safety (Class C restricted operations). Vessel owners can only use Exemption 40 if their vessel will be operating in the operational areas specified in this determination.
There are nine operational areas determined for Exemption 40—Marine Safety (Class C restricted operations):
- Schedule 1 New South Wales
- Schedule 2 Queensland
- Schedule 3 Western Australia
- Schedule 4, Figure 1 South Australia
- Schedule 4, Figure 2 South Australia
- Schedule 5, Figure 1 Tasmania
- Schedule 5, Figure 2 Tasmania
- Schedule 5, Figure 3 Tasmania
- Schedule 6 Cocos (Keeling) Islands
