AMSA’s Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC Australia) has been conducting a search for a light aircraft overdue on a flight in the Wentworth / Mildura area.
The aircraft had not been sighted since departing Wentworth mid-morning on Monday 28 May.
At 5:25pm (local time) today the aircraft was sighted by a search helicopter within the search area, approximately 10 kilometres west of Wentworth airfield.
It has been confirmed the pilot did not survive.
NSW Police are proceeding to the scene and will continue further investigations.
