It's been four months since the float-free EPIRB regulations came into effect. There are no more excuses for not having a float-free EPIRB installed on certain types of domestic commercial vessels.
We now expect vessels to meet this potentially lifesaving requirement. It takes time for a beacon to be delivered and properly installed. If your vessel is required to have a float-free EPIRB and you are yet to install one, contact your local supplier now. Remember, all EPIRBs must be registered with AMSA.
