The breakfast launch allowed us to share the resource kit and discuss its use with over 50 maritime industry representatives.
Southern Rock Lobster also showcased an example of industry best practice through their Clean Green Program. A world first in rocklobster supply chain management, the program is a product certification program integrating ‘pot to plate’ standards for environmental management, food safety and quality, work place safety and animal welfare. The Clean Green Program has been approved as an equivalent means of complying with National Standard for Commercial Vessels Part E – Operation. It reduces the regulatory burden on industry, while at the same providing a pathway for superior operational safety outcomes.
Following the launch, we have received overwhelming interest in hosting safety management training sessions for trainers as well as direct with industry. This is particularly important to meet the upcoming July 2015 date for passenger and hire vessels, and July 2016 for fishing and trading vessels.
If you are interested in hosting a workshop session in your region, please register your interest via operationalsafety@amsa.gov.au or call 02 6279 5000 (select option 3).
Free example safety management systems are also available on the domestic section of our website.
