Marine pollution response training

From 27 November to 1 December 2017 we coordinated a marine pollution response advanced equipment operator’s course in Melbourne.

Participation included representatives from Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, and AMSA.

The course is a competency-based training program which provides participants with a nationally recognised statement of attainment. The competency focuses on:

  • preparing containment
  • recovery and storage of marine pollution response equipment
  • deploying and recovering in an operational setting.

Participants are also required to be able to communicate effectively as a team and to develop site-specific deployment plans to meet the incident action plan objectives.
