Heritage value of lighthouses

As the custodian of many iconic historic sites, we recognise the importance of preserving their cultural heritage.

We manage the lighthouse sites by using the AMSA heritage strategy as a guide. The strategy is a response to the requirements set out in the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (the EPBC Act). The 2018 version of the Heritage strategy is available now, replacing the 2006 version.
