When we amend the NSCV, we may use technical advisory panels to provide technical advice.
Our technical advisory panels are made up of technical experts from the maritime industry, government, academic institutions, and the community. We choose members based on their qualifications, expertise or experience in their field.
The panels help AMSA interpret and apply the NSCV consistently. The nature and complexity of the issue will determine the size of the panel, but each panel will have at least three members. Jurisdictions are not always represented.
