About our Emissions reduction plan
As a Corporate Commonwealth entity, we are committed to supporting the Australian Government's Net Zero in Government Operations Strategy.
Our Emissions reduction plan outlines how we will reduce our operational greenhouse gas emissions. It describes the scope of our efforts and sets interim and net zero targets.
2026-2028 targets
We have set a target to achieve net zero emissions by 2034 in our fleet vehicles and purchased electricity.
Key interim targets include:
- 75% low-emission vehicles by 2030
- 100% battery-electric vehicles by 2034, where operationally feasible
- 80% renewable electricity by 2028 where whole-of-government arrangements are available
- 100% renewable electricity by 2030 where those arrangements are available.
Supporting initiatives include right-sizing office footprints, improving energy efficiency, selecting buildings with stronger NABERS ratings and encouraging lower-emission travel and commuting options.
