NSCV F1C specifies standards for the design, construction and operation of Category F2 fast craft that are additional to the requirements specified in Parts C.

This sub-section shall be read in conjunction with: 

• NSCV Part B - General Requirements 
• NSCV Part C - Design and Construction 
• NSCV Part F Subsection 1A – General Requirements for Fast Craft 
• Marine Order 505

This NSCV was updated as a result of the NSCV Omnibus amendments instrument No 1, 2022 (AMSA has made minor editorial amendments to eight NSCVs to address consequential amendments resulting from the revocation of NSCV Part D).

Summary of changes:

[1] In clause 1.1 Scope:

Substitute “Part D” here:

“This Subsection of the NSCV specifies requirements for the design, construction and operation of Category F2 fast craft that are additional to the requirements specified in Parts C and D.”

With

“This Subsection of the NSCV specifies requirements for the design, construction and operation of Category F2 fast craft that are additional to the requirements specified in Parts C and Marine Order 505.”

[2] In clause 1.1 Scope (c):

Replace

“Part D-Crewing and Competencies”

With

“Deleted as part of NSCV Omnibus amendments instrument No.1, 2022”

[3] In clause 1.10 Referenced documents:

Add

“Marine Order 505 – (Certificates of Competency – National Law) 2022 (Marine Order 505).”

[4] In clause 4.2 Part D of the NSCV:

Replace the title

“PART D OF THE NSCV”

With

“Crewing”

[5] In clause 4.2 Part D of the NSCV:

Replace

“The crew of a Category F2 fast craft shall comply with Part D of this Standard.”

With

“the crewing of a Category F2 fast craft shall comply with the standards in the chapter. NOTE: See 1.1 Scope: which requires compliance with this chapter in addition to the relevant requirements in Marine Order 505".
