International campaign
The translated brochures make our campaign more accessible to IMO Member States.
The colourful campaign brochure makes a compelling case for Australia's re-election. It highlights our stake in international seaborne trade as an island nation and one of the world's largest bulk commodities exporters.
It also showcases Australia's leadership and contribution in maritime safety, environmental protection, international trade, search and rescue and seafarer welfare.
Showcase of influence and achievements
Australia’s Alternate Permanent Representative to the IMO, Adam Henry, said the translated brochures show Australia’s influence, achievements and work more effectively across different regions and language groups.
"Australia has a long and proud history at the IMO and contributes to decisions that shape international maritime standards to make shipping safer and more secure, efficient and sustainable”, Adam said.
“Making our campaign materials available in multiple languages will help more Member States understand Australia's contribution to the international maritime community, our commitment to collaboration and our strong case for continued representation on the IMO Council.”
Campaign period

Australia’s campaign for re-election launched on World Maritime Day 2026 and will continue through to the 35th session of the IMO Assembly, when Member States will elect Council members for the 2028-2029 biennium on 3 December 2027.
