Training of industrial personnel

Marine Order 55 (Vessels carrying industrial personnel) 2024, requires that industrial personnel have appropriate safety training prior to embarking on a vessel.

The below list of training courses would be considered appropriate by AMSA:

  1. A certificate evidencing completion of Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) course approved by the Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation (OPITO) 
  2. A certificate evidencing completion of Basic Safety Training (BST) course approved by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) 
  3. A certificate evidencing completion of an equivalent to either course mentioned in 1 and 2 that is approved by AMSA. For approval of any course equivalent to OPTIO BOSIET or GWO BST contact AMSA.
  4. A certificate of safety training approved by AMSA
