Australian-flagged ships which are detained by foreign port State control authorities overseas must notify AMSA.
Where an Australian-flagged ship is detained by another coastal State under port State control, the operator is required to submit an AMSA 41 form to FSC@amsa.gov.au requesting surveyor attendance.
AMSA will consider the deficiencies identified and will send a surveyor for either an additional survey and/or audit.
This additional survey or audit will be at cost to the operator.
