Marine Order 503—Existing vessel transitional vessel concept flowchart

From 1 January 2018, domestic commercial vessel owners can make certain changes to their 'existing vessel' without having to meet all the standards that apply to a 'new vessel'.

These vessels will become a 'transitional vessel'.

The transitional vessel concept flowchart provides guidance on the kinds of changes that will result in an existing vessel becoming a transitional vessel, and the standards that will apply to the vessel.
