About this policy
The policy explains how AMSA may use the compliance and enforcement powers available under maritime safety legislation.
Our approach includes supporting voluntary compliance through information, guidance and cooperation, as well as taking enforcement action where appropriate.
The policy does not change obligations under maritime safety legislation. Compliance and enforcement decisions are made under the relevant legislation and take into account the circumstances of each matter.
