A garbage management plan is an effective way to reduce garbage generated on board and ensure its effective disposal, to protect our marine environment. Under Australian maritime legislation it is mandatory for certain vessels to carry a garbage management plan.
Provides guidance with regard to compliance with Marine Order 32 (Cargo handling equipment) 2016 (MO 32); for occasions when crew may be permitted to undertake cargo operations following stevedore companies confirmation that they are not available to carry out the work.
This exemption is for people who want to work on a domestic commercial vessel being used for a wildlife or other sightseeing operation in inland waters.
