This marine notice advises of the availability of guidance for the recording of operations in the Oil Record Book Part I – machinery space operations (all ships), prepared and issued by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
This exemption allows people who work on a vessel involved in scientific activities, including research or educational activities, to perform duties as master of a vessel without a certificate of competency.
You do not need to apply to us for this exemption.You will need to keep your supporting documents on board and ready to be presented to authorities if required.
